Isabella Nowicki - Pediatrics

Globally, a huge problem has been widespread diseases and infections that can lead to horrible outcomes, including death. Vaccines are a hesitancy among parents  which is costing for protecting their family especially their children from preventable diseases.

Even though vaccines are now more available than they have been before, many parents are not sure if they are specifically safe. Some believe false accusations that they read from online resources or from what they have heard from others around their community. In some countries, families do not trust the healthcare system or may not even have access to local doctors or clinics. Due to this, many children are not getting the vaccines that they desperately need.

This is serious. A known disease, measles, which we were close to wiping out, is now coming back in countries such as Africa, Europe, and even in the United States. UNICEF states that between 2019 and 2021, 67 million children have missed their regularly vaccines. Which is only putting millions of young children’s lives at severe risk.

To solve this problem, we could: make sure vaccines are fairly accessible, induce true information behind the vaccinations so false accusations are gone, and so much more. Kids around the world deserve every chance they can get to grow up happy and healthy as well as safe from widespread diseases.

In conclusion, in the eyes of the pediatric department, children are not getting their proper and needed vaccinations to prevent getting these deadly diseases that can be maintained.
