When discussing the Global Healthcare Issues in Anesthesiology, there are various topics to include. To begin, Anesthesiology is classified as the branch of medicine that is solely focused on the relief of pain in the perioperative period, such as before, during or after a surgical procedure. Anesthesiologists play a vital role during the surgical process by being fully responsible for the vital signs of the patient and in charge of taking fast actions if any issues occur.

Resource Inequities is a crucial topic when discussing Global Healthcare Issues in Anesthesiology as research shows shortages in rural and low-income areas tend to have fewer Anesthesiologists available that limits the success to the proper preoperative care. Many individuals tend to not have access to proper medical care when needed that affects the demand in Anesthesiology by lacking the proper equipment such as ventilators, monitors and other appropriate anesthetic agents. 

The lack of access to medical attention is a broad topic that takes place in typically every career in medicine as this affects the gaining of experience levels after residency years if in a low-income area; however, there are potentially innovative solutions to help rebuild the demand of Anesthesiologists such as portable anesthesia machines, the growing of intensive training, and positive and motivated mindset to gain knowledge of how to successfully be successful in Anesthesiology along with any other healthcare profession. A motivated mindset towards knowledge in medicine is a successful career in saving lives, for the whole world. Everyone deserves to be treated and helped, no matter the background.

Hello! My name is Zackery Alan Lancaster and I am currently in highschool with hopes of a career in medicine. I first became interested in medicine when I conducted career research in my ongoing AVID Organization, which prepares me for a successful and planned path after college. Furthermore, my interest in medicine was greatly proved by learning alongside my aunt’s medical treatments following her diagnosis of Stage Four Lung Cancer. Due to her negative effect on Anesthesia during surgery, it has sparked motivation in me to pursue a potential career in Anesthesiology in learning the prevention of negative effects on anesthesia but am still flexible in internships of other specialties as well. I have a strong passion for helping others and I feel as if my interpersonal skills will shape the type of doctor I wish to pursue as my career. I am motivated, organized, well-spoken and passionate and I feel as if these traits along with many more will shape me into a successful medical student, residency fellow and doctor.
